Thoroughly clean the shisha.

If you use your shisha regularly, you should also give it a thorough cleaning at least once a week. However, it is better if you clean them after every smoking session. In the following article you will find out which components you should pay attention to and how you can best clean them.

Correctly clean the tobacco head and the smoke column.

Start by cleaning your tobacco head. However, it is important to pay attention to the type of material your tobacco head is made of. Depending on the material involved, different approaches are required.

If you have a glazed tobacco head, you can use a pointed object such as a toothpick to remove the coarse tobacco residue from the holes in the head. You should then wash the pot with water and a little washing-up liquid. The procedure for unglazed heads is basically the same. Here you can also work with steel wool on coarse soiling. Glass heads and pots with a sieve can simply be put in the dishwasher. You should always remove coarse soiling from the head immediately after smoking.

You should also pay a lot of attention to the column of smoke, as a lot of deposits can form there, which in turn can negatively affect the taste of your shisha. You can clean the smoke column perfectly with a little toothpaste and a brush. Then rinse them with a little water and clean the outside with a cloth.

Clean the shisha bowl properly!

You should definitely not neglect your shisha bowl. Due to the direct connection with the smoke column, a lot of deposits can also form there. Therefore, it is recommended that you empty after each smoking process, rinse with water and, ideally, also clean with a brush. With stubborn dirt, you can fill the bowl with a little water and washing-up liquid and let the dirt soak there. Then let all parts dry on a tea towel. You should do this at least once as part of the weekly basic cleaning anyway!

Clean the hose of your shisha / water pipe properly!

Your shisha hose also needs special attention. You should rinse this regularly with at least a little hot water and hang it up to dry. With the weekly thorough cleaning, however, you should not only rinse the entire hose, but boil it in hot water so that all dirt is really removed without leaving any residue. However, caution is advised with leather hoses. These do not have rustproof stainless steel on their inside, but a wire spiral, which can rust if it comes into contact with water. Here you take a hose brush or alternatively a small piece of cloth and clean it with it. Also hang up the leather hose so that any residual moisture can disappear.
